Monarch swimmers qualify for D-I district competition

Several Marysville High School swimmers have advanced to the Division I district meet.
The district will be held Saturday at Ohio University in Athens.
The Monarch athletes qualified for the district via the recent sectional competition that was held at Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Marysville boys qualified the most swimmers.
There are three boys relay teams that will be competing in the district.
Marysville will also be represented in events by seven individuals.
The Lady Monarchs will be represented in a pair of relay races and in one individual event.
Marysville has qualified for the district in the following events (with sectional places and times):

-200 yard medley relay: fifth, 1:47.30 (Brady Watkins, Cody Byrd, Patrick Filbert, Mack Weithman);
-200 yard freestyle relay: second, 1:31.29 (Rylan Brown, Filbert, Brady Cordonnier, Carter Pancallo);
-400 yard freestyle relay: fourth, 3:23.65 (Brown, Filbert, Cordonnier, Pancallo);
-50 yard freestyle: Brown, third, 22.42;
-100 yard freestyle: Brown, fourth, 50.37;
-100 yard butterfly: Filbert, sixth, 54.66;
-200 yard freestyle: Cordonnier, second, 1:49.86;
-500 yard freestyle: Cordonnier, third, 4:53.0;
-50 yard freestyle: Pancallo, eighth, 23.04;
-100 yard backstroke: Pancallo, seventh, 58.28.
Olentangy claimed the boys sectional championship with 417 points.
Westerville South was the runner-up with 269 and Olentangy Liberty placed third with 253.
Marysville was fourth with 213, followed by Delaware Hayes-205, Olentangy Orange-172, Big Walnut-131, Westerville North-130.5, Olentangy Berlin-124.5, Mount Vernon-105, Westerville Central-39 and Marion Harding-29.
Girls
-200 yard freestyle relay: fifth, 1:49.39 (Sadie Dove, Aurora Matsuura, Halle Ruby, Eva Bartlett);
-400 yard freestyle relay: sixth, 4:05.53 (Dove, Matsurra, Ruby, Barlett);
-100 yard backstroke: Matsurra, fifth, 1:04.68.
Olentangy Liberty won the girls sectional championship with 359.
The Patriots were followed by Olentangy-332, Olentangy Orange-261, Delaware Hayes-223, Olentangy Berlin-209, Westerville South-196, Westerville Central-131, Marysville-126, Westerville North-98, Mount Vernon-75, Big Walnut-70 and Marion Harding-20.
