Writer believes time for TIFs is over

Dear Editor,

Seems like Marysville is coming in the back door for tax money that wasn’t voted for them. The school district should get out of the TIF if they can.
One reason the MEVSD levy has failed has been blamed a lot on the rural precincts. Well, when Marysville uses the school-voted on tax money for city infrastructure, the rural areas get no benefit.
If the city needs money for infrastructure for development projects, then let the developer pay, or put a levy on a Marysville ballot and see how that works out.
As for the county engineer not having money to pay for road maintenance, I suggest not spending so much on one roundabout. There is more to Union County than Marysville, Plain City and Jerome Township.
